THE STORY OF MY LIFE

The Great Family Portrait project

Honouring Family, Capturing Legacy

In a fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose touch with the ones who matter most – our family. The Great Family Portrait Project is a heartfelt initiative to bring every close and extended family member together through the power of photography no matter where they are in the country and possibly in the world.

This project is more than just photographs, it’s about preserving memories, strengthening bonds, and celebrating the people who shape our lives.

It’s a reminder that family is the foundation of who we are and that every member, near or far, deserves to be remembered and cherished.

Imagine a picture of every family member in a beautiful book.

Imagine a beautifully crafted book filled with portraits of your loved ones, from grandparents to the youngest generation, a timeless keepsake that tells the story of your family, capturing the faces, personalities, and connections that make your family unique.

By embarking on the Great Family Portrait Project for your family, you are ensuring that future generations will have a tangible connection to their roots, a visual family tree that tells a story of love, unity, and legacy.

Let’s bring families closer, one portrait at a time and create a family treasure that lasts a lifetime.

How do we photograph every member of your extended family?

The idea for the Great Family Portrait  Project is to photograph every member of your family. From those living in the next suburb, to those living in Riebeek-Kasteel. Or Perth.

Once we have photographed every member of your family, we produce a photobook with every single member of your extended family preserved for generations to come.

The way we manage to photograph every member of your extended family is to undertake the Great Family Portrait Project road trip driving from one end of our beautiful country to the other.

Multiple stops in multiple small towns and cities.

On this road trip, we make multiple stops in multiple small towns and cities where we photograph your extended family as well as all the other families involved in the project at the time.

We combine multiple family shoots to keep the project accessible to as many families as possible.
So if we have 5 families to photograph in Port St. Johns, we make sure we book as much time as we need to photograph those families before heading off to the next town to photograph the next family.

Should your family extend to other countries in Africa or the rest of the world , we will have their portraits taken by a local professional for inclusion in your Great Family Portrait Project photobook.

And remember, while we are there, we can also film an heirloom remembrance video for you.

We love that you would like to start a Great Family Portrait Project for your family.

Please provide your details and the details of how widespread your family is across South Africa and our professional team will be in touch to discuss how we can start your Great Family Portrait Project.
